Plantronics Voyager Pro HD Bluetooth Headset
The Plantronics Voyager High Definition Bluetooth Headset is a great resource for truck drivers. The entire Voyager Pro line has been great and the quality of the name has been better with each new release. The Voyager HD Bluetooth Headset combines all of the variations into one headset, newly adding a proximity sensor. Given the fact that you can get the Voyager Pro for $65, this deal is a steal.
I’ve seen truck drivers walking around looking like they have an antenna sticking out of their heads. Sorry, I don’t want to walk on the docks or in a truck stop with that on my head. The Voyager HD Bluetooth is much smaller and has a sleek looking look I know you’re going to appreciate. One of the best features on the Voyager Pro Bluetooth Headset is the sound quality. You couldn’t ask for a better sound. The sound is great, loud and crisp. I haven’t had the first issue with sound. If I had, I wouldn’t have even wrote this review.
The Voyager Pro HD is capable of A2DP so you can steam music, podcasts, GPS announcements and the like from a suitably equipped phone or other device. Remember though, not all phones and computers support A2DP. You should consider this because if your phone doesn’t support it, you’re not going to be able to do anything with it. Again, the sound is crystal clear and streaming is easy.
This Bluetooth headset has a sensor that will automatically recognize when the headset is being wore. You don’t have to keep your headset on your head all the time. If you get a call and you’re not wearing your Voyager Pro HD Bluetooth Headset, the call will be routed to your phone. Being that it’s illegal to operate a phone on the road, this is a huge benefit for me as a truck driver.
The Voyager Pro HD Bluetooth Headset is a little large but nothing compared to other headsets I see truckers wearing all the time. The microphone rest perfectly in position and you can always adjust it to your needs. Another cool feature on the Voyager Pro Headset is the noise-cancelling feature. This actually surprised me. I was talking to a client, a friend also and we tested with loud noise in the background. Not only did he hear every word I said, he said he could barely even hear the background noise anyway. Trust me, it was quite loud. This is awesome, there’s always cases where we’re on downtime or at a truck stop with loud background noises. No more waiting or missing important elements, your customers or dispatcher is going to hear you just right.
Most of us truckers are on the road 10-12 hours a day. The only weakness that I found in the Voyager Pro headset was the battery life. I’ve tested it a few times and I get around 6 hours of test time. Of course, this only gets me through half the day but I’m in my rig anyway. When I’m done talking, I hook it into the rig, charge it up and I lose no time at all. This may be a small issue for some of you but given its quality, the Voyager Pro HD Bluetooth Headset is a perfect choice for any level of truck drivers.
