Top Transportation Stocks Steady In Early Months
Many of the top ten transportation stocks are down this year despite the higher demand we’ve seen in the first two months. Knight Transportation (KNX) continues to lead the transportation department. Knight Transportation has seen a YTD performance of +18.43 percent. JB Hunt Transportation Services (JBHT) remains in second on our list but is down in the early months of 2014. JB Hunt’s YTD performance is -8.01 percent on the year. Despite the early 2014 loss, (JBHT) remains to be a top transportation stock at a share value of $71.10.
Old Dominion Freight (ODFL) has seen a steady 2014 unlike many of the other transportation stocks. Old Dominion Freight is down on the year but remains to be one of the best performing transportation stocks in 2014. (ODFL) is down on YTD performance but by only -0.13 percent. Just like Old Dominion, Landstar System INC (LSTR) has seen a steady year in 2014. Landstar System INC continues to see growth at a YTD performance of +0.96 percent. Ryder System INC (R) remains to be a strong transportation stock in the early months of 2014. (R) has a YTD performance of -1.02 percent.
Marten Transport LTD (MRTN) has been off to a rocky start in the first two months of the year. Martin Transport is down on the year -4.21 with a share value at $19.26. Werner Enterprises INC has been strong in January and February of 2014. (WERN) has a share value of $25.89 and has seen a YTD performance of +4.65 percent. Amerco INC (UHAL) has seen a YTD performance of -4.03 percent. Even so, (UHAL) still has a share value of $228.15. Roadrunner Transportation Systems INC (RRTS) continues to see falling stock prices in early 2014. (RRTS) has a YTD performance of -14.69 percent with share values falling to $23. Universal Truckload Services (UACL) remains on our top ten list of transportation stocks but is falling quick. (UACL) has a YTD performance of -16.65 percent.
